    J Kaminski Photography RECOGNIZED IN
THE KNOT BEST OF WEDDING MAGAZINE

Annual Survey of Recently Married Couples in Milwaukee
    Reveals Top Wedding Vendors

J Kaminski Photography is pleased to announce it has been selected as a 2008 Pick for The Knot Best of Weddings magazine, a coast-to-coast, by-brides-for-brides guide to the top wedding sites, photographers, florists, and more in over 40 key cities across the United States published by The Knot Inc. (www.theknot.com), the #1 wedding website and most trusted wedding resource.

The Knot conducted its second annual survey of over 20,000 recent brides to capture detailed feedback on every business that couples hired for their wedding celebration.

Milwaukee newlyweds contributed their raves and reviews on the area’s wedding professionals. The newlyweds were asked to rate their vendors on multiple criteria, from creativity to professionalism, and to comment on their experiences. The resulting ratings—and detailed feedback—were aggregated by the editors of The Knot to create this one-of-a-kind publication highlighting the best wedding resources in each region according to local brides. The survey was administered by Harris Interactive.

I am thrilled to be recognized among such a talented group of peers. I hope you will join us in celebrating this tremendous accolade.

    Sincerely,
    J Kaminski Photography

  • ZenDen

I shot an ad for Zen Den which will appear in the next issue of INFO. My idea was to create a Ying Yang sign out of two models. This is an outtake from that shoot- I decided to go with a different positioning of the models:

  • G. C. Fogle

More outtakes!! This is a photo I took of Poet G.C. Fogle for info. Again, it won't work for their layout but I love this photo! Enjoy!

  • Matthew Fleming

Another Info outtake! Matthew Fleming is a T-Shirt designer/artist. I actually had wanted to photograph him in front of a wall of white t-shirts, and then decided to change direction due to the logistics.

  • Charles Dwyer

Last week I photographed the phenomenal artist Charles Dwyer for INFO magazine. I met him at Bay View family diner...a place that I used to love and hadn't been to in ages!! Charles was quite lovely and we met a few of the regulars (though Charles himself is a regular, there was one gentleman in particular that had been coming there for like 40 years!).

Here is one of the outtakes. I love this photo of him, but it won't fit into the format needed, so you can enjoy it here on my blog!

  • Gross/Wittig Family Portrait

About a week ago I had the pleasure of working with the Gross Family again. I had photographed two of their daughters weddings in 2006, and since there were a few young additions to the family, it was time to get together for another group photo. I love how they turned out and this is one of my favorites!

The other thing that I would like to make note of is their use of color in their outfits. I had told Mrs Gross that having everyone wear all white or all black shirts can sometimes make the photo look like a big blob. In this case, Mrs Gross chose a color pallet and mailed everyone a sample of colors to choose from. As you can see in the photograph, this worked out perfectly.

Even if you don't end up going the route of a color pallet, consider giving the family a theme. If you chose neutrals for example, then everyone in the photo could choose from an assortment of shades in brown and beige. That way, you will achieve depth in the photograph while still having a sense of uniformity.
