  • Milwaukee International Film Festival

I just wanted to let everyone know that this year's film festival will be running from September 20th-30th. You can find a movie guide for free inside the Shepherd Express weekly newspaper or go to their website www.Milwaukeefilmfest.org. Movies are typically shown at the Oriental, Downer, and Times Cinema, with a few showings at the Art Museum as well.

If you have never been to the film festival, I strongly encourage you to go. It's grown exponentially, and it's so exciting to see the masses of people coming out to see independant films. And don't fret- Movies are for everyone, and there are many different types of movies at the festival from animation, to documentaries, to regular narratives. If you're having trouble figuring out where to start, I suggest going to the Milwaukee Filmmaker Showcase on September 27th at the Oriental Movie Theater, 7pm. There you will be able to watch a selection of short films, including the film Perceval that I worked on with Tate Bunker.

Another word of advice: if you show up at the theater for any of these movies right before they start, you will most likely not get in. I strongly advise you to purchase tickets ahead of time and arrive early for any movie that you wish to see. Even if it's a 9:00pm showing on a Tuesday night, I can tell you from experience that it will still be filled.

Hope to see all of you there!!
